The Martin AM-1 Mauler entered service in 1948 as a single seat shipboard attack aircraft. It set the single engine aircraft record carrying a 10,689 lb. load aloft. Its Wright 4360 engine was the largest rotary engine ever.
The plan for this model was designed by Mike Nassise and is being isssued in honor of ‘Smilin’ Jack Moses, beloved Flying Aces and Detroit Cloudbusters member. This is a landing gear up model kit. It was created for Flying Aces Club Outdoor Champs 1 Design Contest.
This free flight rubber powered kit includes a full-size rolled CAD drawn plan, laser cut balsa parts, hand-picked balsa strip wood, vacuum-molded canopy, spinner, and air scoop, FAI rubber motor, E-B propeller, EBM thrust bearing, LaserCal™ and TissueCal™ markings, and Easy Built Lite dark navy blue tissue. To build this model you will need a building board, hobby knife, fine sandpaper, and glue.

This is the prototype built by Dave Niedzielski for this kit. Materials for the ordnance shown are not included, but the plan contains instructions for building the scale Mark 13 torpedoes and HVAR rockets.
